The members of the Oculus Media Team have extensive consulting experience for Tourism, Real Estate and business in general. Below are a few examples of the positive results of contributions from Oculus Media team members.
                    Examples - Tourism Associations
Duck Creek Village:   A few years ago we assisted the owner of a lodging operation, in a rural mountain village, with a marketing plan. One of our first questions we asked was, "What is the community doing cooperatively". We soon learned that the community, which comprised of several lodging, dining, service and activity operations, was not doing any cooperative marketing.  As representatives of our client we invited the community business leaders together to discuss a cooperative plan.  Together we identified a need for the following:
• Community Brochure (with a good map of the mountain area and the village)
• Distribution method for the brochure
• Internet Site (with map, listings, photos, area attractions, etc.)
• Selected ads in magazine and newspapers
• Expanded schedule of community events
An association was formed and the business leaders each contributed an amount to the community budget. We then turned to the local county tourism and state tourism offices for additional assistance. We applied for and received matching funds from the county. This gave the community a good beginning budget. The community effort was a great supplement to our individual client and this meant that our client could focus on marketing which highlighted his business individually while the community marketing focused on name recognition for the community itself. Over the past several years this organization has continued to be an effective force for driving visitors to all of the businesses. This method of bringing other monies and minds together to support your own efforts can be the most effective thing you do for your operation.

Washington County Guides & Outfitters: Tourism in Washington County, Utah is a strong component of the local economy. However, it became obvious to one of the members of Oculus media that the county was ignoring one of it greatest assets, the opportunity for Outdoor Adventure. Guides and outfitters in the county were struggling to make their businesses profitable. Local tourism officials were ignoring the opportunity to build a segment of the tourism market. An association was formed, membership fees collected and a marketing plan was established. As a group the association approached local tourism officials with their plan and requested assistance. The association has grown over the years and is presently the beneficiary of significant state and county marketing funds.

Slot Canyons Inn: Five years ago key people from this company approached one of our members with their plan to build a unique bed and breakfast (Inn) on the edge of the Grand Staircase National Monument in Utah. After two and half years of consulting and developing a business / marketing plan, and even writing letters to financial institutions in support of their efforts, the dream finally became a reality. They had a very good first year of business and are nearing the completion of their second year (with exceptional results). They even liked our members recommendation for a name - “Slot Canyons Inn”, which fits perfectly with the terrain of the Grand Staircase National Monument.
Trio Grande: Three different theaters in southern Utah were individually struggling to market their operations. At the suggestion of one of our members they formed a cooperative to jointly promote the theatrical opportunities of the region. Tuacahn Center Outdoor Amphitheater, The Utah Shakespearean Festival and the Zion Canyon Theater (IMAX Films) worked together to reach travelers in the region looking for quality entertainment. Group tours and individual travelers were targeted through a brochure, trade and travel shows and various other methods. The theaters shared Internet links and found many ways to represent each other for the overall benefit to each of them individually.
Art Gallery Association: Recently it became obvious that the city of St. George, Utah and the surrounding area was in strong need of an art association to support the efforts of local galleries and art studios. An association was formed, membership fees acquired and a brochure was published and effectively distributed. A web site was also created. Matching funds and support was acquired from the local tourism office to assist in the effort.
